Your Beautiful Black Eyes

My first romantic poem and a tribute to women with black or brown eyes. :)

Staring into your black eyes
is like the comfort of night
lying in the bed
laughing at things that were said

We lay under the covers
 Ignoring the world above us
No one to cause us harm
As we sleep in each other's arms

In our lovenest cocoon
 We laugh like crazy bafoons
 Then we continue with the light kisses
Tonight you are my mistress

I love combing your hair
 with the tips of my finger
Then I touch your lips
with the tenderness of my kiss
 
Your Beautiful Black Eyes
Are staring at me with love
Your beautiful voluptuous thighs
Are tantalizing as a dove

My black eyed princess
the ultimate temptress
You're different from the rest
far from the darkness

How sweet. I really enjoyed the warmth and rhyme of this piece. Its just a happy read, a gentle reminder of the little things in life that are so so important. I like how your characters are lost to the world beneath the covers, and the narrator even more so in the eyes of his sweetheart.

I love that you are always attempting to challenge what's out there! I have blue eyes. They're dark blue and I am sure that many a man has seen an ocean in them, but I have seen beautiful brown eyes, and eyes nearly black and green eyes and eyes the color of honey and green eyes and eyes with freckles in them that are cool and I knew this girl who had crazy awesome yellowish eyes that almost had stripes in them. There are so many choices and none of them should really been ignored.

This poem is beautifully romantic without the humor that you typically infuse into your poetry. It's refreshing and honest sounding. You have range. I like this a lot. It feels like diving into some love. great poem!

"Your Beautiful Black Eyes" = beautiful black eyes doesn't need to be capitilized.
"far from the darkness" = I find this last line very ironic since everything that you hint about in the poem suggests that she is a part of a darkness of some sort. It's because you use words like black, temptress, mistress and such. Also, I would have liked a little more from this piece. Especially here at the end where you say "from the darkness". I really wanted to know what this darkness was since it seems to be relating to a certain darkness and not just darkness in general.

I think that since this is your first romantic poem, you did one hell of a job. It's beautifully written but I think that maybe you could have lengthen it.
