An Aching Whisper

An Aching Whisper

A Poem by Nancy Kathleen

To you who whispered goodbye

I could feel you leaving in the corners of my breath -
And then I said goodbye to forever.
I could feel you leaving in the corners of my life -
Then I realized will I heal or never?

I placed my heart on an empty box
I found it outside your door
It took me some time to realize it was mine
Until you said you're done with it, kindly pick it on the floor.

I had to understand - was it me or was it you?
Or both of us were meant to part to find somebody new
I had to understand why we fall in love and then fall apart
Or maybe- maybe this love was not ours from the start.

After you leave -i'd be left with a certain question.
And the pain - the pain will subside if your name they mention.
Was it me- was it you or was it somebody new?
That caused you to walk away and whisper
"Sorry it's no longer you"

..It's no longer you.

We always dreamed of that person next to us will be the one and only. To be like our first love will be our last love. Majority of us this is not the case. But once you learn and moved on from this journey, the right love will come and follow you. And I'm sure the next kind of love will give much more meaning to your life.

Saying goodbye or hearing it is way too hard to bear especially from a person who we think we can not live without.. You put in a great effort in conveying these feelings. Good job..

Your words confess such a depth of pain and wondering, wishing to know the deeper meaning behind goodbye. The words make me ache in these shadowlands.

There's never a good way to say goodbye, especially if you're in deep.
Sometimes it's better to find them cheating. Then at least it's goodbye pronto.
No questions to answer then.

I am fond of writing down my thoughts. I write when I am deeply in pain. I write when I am extremely happy. I write when I am embraced by sadness. I write because you exist. more..
