CURSED

CURSED

A Poem by Debbie_Philly

Cursed

Night pitch as the raven full moon rising as the earth

dances like nymphs delighted by the summer solstice.

Heat of the night glistening off satin skin a need to feast

blood flowing through veins like a crimson river.

Flames burn unquenchable a constant thirst frenzied

mad and untamable until he has had his banquet.

Feeding upon the souls of the damned forever searching.

Night by night with diminished vision clouding the view.

Forever searching bound by the curse living yet stagnate

for all eternity.

Beautiful imagery. It seems as if the curse you depict is that of immortality (among other things) in that the perpetuity of life will eventually leave you "stagnant for eternity", though your heart may beat. It sounds, from another, perspective, like a leech who lives in stagnant water and feeds off the blood of those who enter. Well done, and nice photograph : )

Night pitch as the raven. This is a genius line. I could get it out of my head as I read this poem over and over.

Wow. Love how dark you went with this. Totally spooky but intriguing nonetheless. Love the hint to the mortal curse of the notorious soul search that most of us are on. Great picture too!

Haunting wicked images throughout. You describe a psychological state no one wants to be in. Very dark poetry. Written well. Lydi**

A raven full moon, pitch darkness, dancing nymphs, and burning, unquenchable thirst. This wicked little wonder had a bit of everything, in addition to being wonderfully perented by the artwork.

Great job, Debbie!

This is dark and highly descriptive. You've created a living hell that scorches the page.
