Observance

A Poem by getinthecarplease

Inner winter melted as the pharaoh wiped a tear
Scenes of olden days appeared to the men
Desert imagery could appeal to dromedary kings
Autumn princess locked in an infinite zen

Received two tablets from the burning hag
Concoction of herbs against black magic
Archaic symphonic and the modern connection
Rhythm was blind to avant garde static

The forces of soul were deafened by the erotic
Conceal the eagle over the morning wind
With a goddess dancing for the music to become louder
The temple collapsed as our god sinned

By axe of double blade
The jewel encrusted flute
The sounds of an orchestra within a trembling hand
The elven tunesmith in a jade suit

The barbarian knelt by a sea to cast a stone
The knife was forever engraved
Three conclusions for seven angels
The luckiest man was forever enslaved

The ancients had yet to form an answer
Lost in their veil of red
Remember the word, remember the date
On which the universe bled

Round a piano and a piccolo
The suite of rare birds shall commence
A wall of fat stones built by pretension
A maiden arrived in pale lace and incense

Blue midnight faded into morning
The dawn had awoken grey
Noon was black as none noticed the theme
The dusk was white until a new day

His wife in her unholy passion
He sought the users on his lawn
The dagger pierced a heretic home
He was silver within the dawn

Insanity sung the requiem of the concept
Greed and hunger were lost on a path
The moon smiled as the sun had a cold
A man sat back to laugh
