Quetzalacatengo

Quetzalacatengo

A Poem by getinthecarplease

Pilgrim of jeweled lands trips into a dream,
serpent coiled on a vein of rivers in the air.
Butterfly hypnotized by his visions.
Tortoise crawls from under the shattered sun.

Pyramids trace the sky over violet sands
Telling tracks of his guide point toward the strands
of a life left unbound to a companion.
Fragments of his reverie fading away.

Wander the fire-laden mountains of ecstasy
and all the mysterious voyage can guarantee.

Beholden to love, a lighthouse stands above
but the beacon is blurred as answers are revealed.
All obscured, her allure sparks affection,
he holds aloft the starlight shining to sea.

Wander the ice-laden canyons within your eyes
for the mysterious voyage shall mesmerize.
