Love's revolving door

Love's revolving door

A Poem by EmpressPoetess
"

Sometimes it's hard to let go!

"

I opened the door to my heart
and allowed you to come inside
I made it a pleasant and
loving place for you to reside

While there, you grew and said
 you needed more space
I held tight, and tried to fight
to keep you in place

But I loved you, so I opened my heart
to let you go free
now there's an empty space inside me

I left the door to my lonely heart

slightly ajar, and from time to time,
I peer out, wondering where you are

But mama said to close it, move on,
and don't let anyone else in
and I've tried, but mama......
there's that man again!
