I spent the worst day of my life smiling, laughing, and chatting as if nothing had changed at all while Keiran’s goodbye note burned a hole in my pocket. The fake friends seemed faker. They all only cared about who my parents were or how much money I had.

Keiran was the only one that cared about.

But he left me behind.

He was offered a place at W.E.I.R.D. and he took it without even waiting to say goodbye to me in person.

Well screw that! I thought. No one leaves Adela Montaigne behind!
