Lost Love

Lost Love

A Poem by Farhan Shaikh

All the choices you made
Were thrown on me like a grenade.
My world was black,
I am moving on, please don't come back.

I gave you whatever I could,
I loved you more than I should.
First you accepted and then said  no
I then realised, it is time to let go.

You are not worthy of my love
But there is no other girl I placed above.
For our future you were confused,
But then I ended up getting used.

Your ex dominated your love again
You didn't think about me, you left me in vain.
Future we planned; All the kisses that we shared
My love for you will forever be rare.

Less but beautiful was the time we spent
Said loving words that we atleast I meant.
I loved you with all my heart, so truly
Then also you left me so easily.

So I decided to leave your life
Parting with you feels like I am stabbed with a knife.
I hope one day you'll realise
That my love was not a disguise.

Wounds you gave are hard to heal
My feelings and love for you was real.
I may never find anyone like you again
Losing you is not a loss but a gain.

The emotions really show and you can feel each one as you read. I relate to this on a deep level and it is very powerful indeed.

This is the kind of poem we can compose songs on. All the rhyming and right usage of words are apt for the song. Apart from this, of course the feeling underneath is pure and sadness is just the favorite child of love i think.

I have seen your relationship/romantic vibe/style writing grow, Farhan... You have cleaned up presentation and tightness of rhymes within constructed meter... You are super relatable. This felt almost laid-back, but forlorn at the same time... Masterful mixing of thought to give us a soup of emotion you are the master chef of...

She didn't deserve your love, who don't know the value of your love ,and therefore no regret should carry for losing her...because she had lost you, but you had gained something better....so truly wonderful and truly well written poem.

Wow, you capture such strong emotions of despair, loss, and emotional pain. It is difficult knowing that you love someone so deeply but they don't share the same feelings for you, but still they go out with you out of pity. This is a exceptional piece keep on writing!
