Rekindled Hope

Rekindled Hope

A Poem by Celie Rose
"

A new beginning

"

Rekindled Hope

from the Heavenly realm,

this being his command.

selected by Almighty's active force,

divinely chosen from among

a world of ungodly man,

of course.

hand picked from the tree

of humanity.

these two seeds will represent

mankind in a new beginning,

it has been deemed.

imminent impending destruction

upon man coming.

a futile consequence.

saturated wickedness is

wringing wet,

and is soaked throughout

entire lands.

planet earth is dying and

beyond repair.

non-stop war, bloodshed, hate

and selfish greed did deplete it.

indignation and doom will be soon,

poles of the earth will rattle,

shake and crack,

fire, brimstone and poisonous

gasses.

as the earth implodes on itself.

an orphan star jarred and fatally

scarred.

it will disappear as if never existing,

and this will not be unexpected.

nevertheless, preparation has been

made to preserve two human lives

from the whole of humanity.

a boy child and girl child in their

seventh year.

they are close and connected in

thought as fraternal twins are,

and now ready and geared

for takeoff on their duly mission.

a lost hope is in their hands,

commissioned.

sadly, you could see the pain

welling up in her face.

motherly instinct did not want to

let them go,

but she understood.

her lips quivered as tears were spilling

from her eyes, gently rolling down

her cheeks, peacefully.

wanting to protect,

he could hardly contain himself,

but he did do his best.

it is now time to say goodbye.

blessed innocence going on a

a long winged flight.

a far and distant journey to an

unknown bright star, welcoming them

in with open arms.

she caressed their soft caramel

skin as only a mother's love can.

she picked them up to hug and kiss them

then she did begin to regretfully weep.

feeling disheveled completely.

he safely buckled them in

and bid farewell to his children.

flames and ignition went off

with the engines

and these two were on their way,

having a rendezvous with destiny.

as they were approaching

this magnificent black hole,

colorful shinning lights,

a spectacular sight lined

the rim guiding them in,

leading to another dimension

where conditions would be favorable

and forgiving,

under divine guidance.

offering a new lease on life,

a new and healthy beginning awaiting

them.

amen

I suppose we need hope in these dire times... if (& when) we annihilate ourselves (and perhaps most other life), a 'next step upward' may result... or not...
A fine poem!!

Critique: (colorful shinning lights) shining

Review: Interesting story, kind of reminds me of the story of Superman which was taken from the story of Moses. This is more of a story than a poem, you should consider putting it in paragraph form and expanding on it and make it a short story or even a novel. Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Really interesting story, going from an Armageddon-like description to the description of the two survivors who will preserve the species on another plane of existence. (One typo note- rendezvous rather than rudivoo). At first, the intensity of the poem feels like a prophecy of the last days of earth, and it is filled with intense despair, but told in more of a matter-of-fact way. So I really relished the story of the boy and girl, chosen to survive. It reminds me of Superman hurtling to earth when his planet is destroyed, and tales of Atlantis sinking, a mythology that always intrigues me. Great write!

The thought was that adam and eve were to prove to be the perfect race. We are not that. WE have made errors and continue to make mistakes. We do not learn from our errors, the idea of the UN was supposed to have done this. Yet it does not do as it is supposed to. We have food enough in this world if we were to give the people who need the food. What would be wrong with that. curruption rules teh world. What happens when we stand up to the people who do this, We are arrested. Is this just.

One of the great books."On the beach". Also a amazing movie. Told of the end of our world. Your poem left me with sadness. I pray a nuclear war won't be needed for the people of our world to learn. War is not the road to peace.
"leading to another dimension
where conditions would be favorable
and forgiving,
under divine guidance.
offering a new lease on life,
a new and healthy beginning awaiting
them."
The above lines. Is there a better place? Thank you my friend. I enjoyed this poem. Made me think this early morning.
