Her

Her

A Poem by Giulia King

There was an aura about her.
Two kindred spirits don’t just meet by accident.
She was beautiful from the start,
Her hair was long and soft, and bright eyes.
I knew she would take my breath away as soon as I saw her smile,
but I didn’t know just how breathless I would feel.
. . .
She was the first leaf to fall in autumn,
She was the warm feeling you get when something good happens in your life
and suddenly a smile emerge on your lips and you think; I'm home.
She's pure light.
A cup of hot tea with some sweet honey.
A shifting monochrome you can't take your eyes off of.
A breathtaking mystery.
She's worth every high and low,
The missing puzzle you so desperately try to find your whole life.
Only to realize she's right in front of you.
A work of art.
She's the shuffle to my board,
The sand to my castle.
Her soul is my soul.
Every time I'm around her, I can feel the hands of magic connecting us,
tying us together.
That's got to mean something.
I love that we are 7 billion souls in this world and my soul found you.
. . .
Sometimes, I wander off to places that remind me of you.
Rooftops, bookstores, or looking at the moon, talking about your smile.
Thinking how lucky the stars are for knowing all your deepest secrets.
I found myself in late night drives,
wandering without a destination.
It's an addiction.
Our destiny together was written in the stars.
I don't know anything special about this world.
I guess I'll never know anything as special as you.
In a world full of temporary things, you were my forever.
And for that, I wanted to say thank you.
Because I needed you.
I needed you in this life.
In another life, another world,
we would’ve had everything and nobody would’ve been able to punish us for it.

Your welcome :)
Beautiful and passionate. You changed tenses in the middle, though, and I'm not sure why. You went from speaking about "her", to addressing "you"...which threw me off a bit at first. Even so, it's a beautiful write. Nice job.

Amazing and beautiful use of words.

I could write a epic tale for the words above. The poem is outstanding dear Gullia.

I did and you are welcome Gullia.
The first part reads like you have found a sure thing. But the last grouping sounds like past tense, guess that means it did not turn out the way you wanted. Valentine

Thank you for reading, Pravir :)
It's good, though the first half is slightly haphazard in its form. This poem has a very "Classy" romanticized feel to it, almost like an 19th century love poet.

"A shifting monochrome you can't take your eyes off of." I really liked this line, somehow very vague and very descriptive. I love that word, Monochrome. ;)

Good Job, Kingsy! :)

I can feel the honesty in it, word by word and that's what makes it beautiful. It's a nicely and clearly flowing ode to a loved one although the end left me with a rather heavy emotion. By the end it reads to me like a forced separation, a letter of gratefulness and love to someone who passed a life leaving strong impacts.
Anyways, I can relate to this very well, especially currently, your choice of words ringing in my head, I wished I could express myself so simply yet full of emotion but my mind seems to be bound to weird-and vagueness. A very nice piece of writing.

I love this! You put love into words so eloquently!! The images, the emotion, are beautifully displayed in your words. The feeling of love actually lifts off the page like a fog that can be inhaled! And yet there is a heartfelt message behind the words that whispers to my soul. I love your poems!
I enjoyed this one very much!
