Crosses and palms

Crosses and palms

A Poem by Rob Santana
"

Crosses and palms

"

To the ends of the earth

North and South

East to West

I spread my arms and tilt my head

My eyes bleed, while my heart pumps

Prurient beats

Choices of good and evil

Stand before me with great strength

They expect me to decide......

I turn away.....from both

I hold my breath, as I watch the crosses fall

Palms erect, holding the power of freewill

No longer having faith in false images

We are no longer chained

Follow me through the graves,

And see what life offers you

Kiss your loved ones goodbye

And release them to the sky

Follow me to the waves

And cleanse your souls

With the blue spirit of the ocean

Get high upon the waves,

Absorb the sun rays,

Let the sea salt heal your wounds

Now, you're free............

Sounds like a plan ....
this is nice and reminds me of Bob Marley's words :

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.

your words ring true and we keep ourselves shackeled to all that we fear ... yet fear is but an illusion just like everything else we have thought into reality right ...

i like it .. simple words with much depth .. well done x

:) Pleasure x
The waters of the ocean symbolize humanity in many prophetic writings... I see this as embracing our humanity and loving our fellow man and woman.
The ocean is healing in so many ways. In reality and metaphorically speaking.
You penned great depth here Rob.

Nice write here... I haven't dove into your darkness yet but I am definitely loving this poem on relinquishing your spirit into peace and freedom. Well done!

Thank you very much K...
Wow...this is downright beautiful. There's so much hope and tranquility in this one. You know, for all that you're amazing at dark poetry...you're pretty good at the light stuff too.

I'm impressed. Bravo.

I like it a lot. I love how you say that the sea salt will heal your wounds, and you see the ocean as a spirit. It is a beautifully written peace with a bit of positive energy.
