The Deeds

The Deeds

If poetry became illegal

I would still let my words flow

Because I know

To become silent

would kill my soul

I would take to the shadows

and graffiti walls in the form of prose

and at night time

I would carve poetic lines into eyelids

Committing poetic crimes

that would leave them wide-eyed and terrified

Just to let everyone know

My words pulsate like a heartbeat

The tapping rhythm of

the soles of shoes being chased

Running the race of life

Knowing my thoughts, words, and deeds

do carry a real weight

I don’t have time to wait

as I am getting older

So I have less time to act like I have time to spare

As I prepare to become another enemy of the state

I wont hesitate to become the villain in your bedtime stories

Like Robin Hood that stood against the oppression

See I have an obsession to change the world

As I bleed from the tip of this pen

Spilling my soul upon page after page

Releasing my poetic voice to heavens gates

It’s something beyond fate

as I make my own destiny

This is my calling

and some may not understand

What exactly is God’s master plan

I do realize I am but one man

but with these hands I can demonstrate

The deeds of man last long after their deaths

I must confess I was blessed

with what can only be described a God given gift

To write

So I will let my words take flight

Knowing conversation often end confrontation

But that’s my mission in life

To eliminate some of this worlds hate

I will never imitate someone I not meant to be

Because I much rather be free

than to live a world of hypocrisy

Label me an outcast

as I make a public outcry

to just open your eyes

See the world for what it meant to be

and know we can all live in harmony

So if poetry should become illegal

Look for me whenever you see

The word HOPE in spray-paint

I’ll be lurking somewhere,

where the shadows reach

Because they will never take

away the light from my eye

Marcus Antonius:
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears!
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Caesar.

on a different note; i must say, so heart broken that vent radio had to go. Makes me wish i would have called in while i had the chance. Not much opportunity to read my stuff in my neck of the woods.. :(

At least I still have the cafe!
