Distractions

Distractions

A Poem by Jennesis
"

Musing about the strength of feelings for someone who cannot be my partner in life, but who is amazing in the moment.

"
My logical self wants to walk away
Yet I'm drawn into our spark
That chemical reaction that ignites
When we are together

The world melts away
My priorities are set aside
I want to drink in the sensation
of us...
A fine vintage wine

Wrap myself up in our pleasuring
A soft plush blanket
Naked and exposed
Being in our love

Ignoring the practicalities of life
These feelings make sense
An equation that has a final answer

Then the trance is broken
Realities of life take precedent over
Our passion distraction

Alone again we walk the paths
We've chosen

Hmmm, reads like a crush on another's partner, where fantasies are dreamt to achieve solo pleasure. Mind you, there's a good chance I'm miles off the mark. Good morning/evening.

Having been in a situation in which Ms. Right Now would never have produced a Ms. Forever Mine...the memories of passion and intense phrasing of our love make all memories of our union bittersweet. Now that I am involved with a Ms. Forever, would I ever consider erasing those memories out of respect for my loving and present relationship. I'm afraid that those memories are permanent fixtures...and it seems as if this is the point of your write? No.............??
If not then this is a terrific rendition of a love story with a stark beginning and a JOLT of an end. I like your style, Jennesis. Please send me read requests...I have a hard time keeping up with all of my friends' writes. take care...dan

Meeting someone and living in a moment with him/her makes life interesting. why is it that attraction to those who may not be with us forever remains forever??
Overall, kudos to the poem you wrote. Thanks for sharing.

I could feel this and it felt so wonderful. There are times in our lives where someone crosses our path, someone special, unexpected but you know when you meet them it was somehow meant to be. Your mind wanders through a thousand what ifs, though all along you know this moment, no matter how beautiful it feels, can not last. But oh the time you do get to spend with them, memories and smiles that let us know why we were in that place at that time. This poem was wonderful, maybe one of the best I have read today. Thank you for sharing this. It left an impression on me.

was in a similar situation to this...we still appreciate that closeness we had for so many years...a different kind of friendship...a world of our own that had nothing to do with anyone else.

love the expression in this.

Thanks Jacob! It so important to have all the puzzle pieces fit. Happy New Year!
Jenn,
I cannot recount the times I've dreamt of moments like these, even fantasized about them, composing them into poems sublime and irresistibly alluring to the senses, desires, and yearning, and what would we be without imagination, for is this not where all blissful undertakings begin … stoked by passion, quickened heartbeats, and breath.
Glorious is the lure in one's core to embrace in warmth and gracious gratitude of that which the primal, indisputable power of emotional, sensual enthrallment inspires within us, and you've said it all so much better than I ever could.
I can pick so many lines of your relatable expressions, but how amazingly, Jenn, I relate to the all of this brilliantly rendered composition in Free Verse, and how it has inspired and thrilled me … I love it, what else?

I'll walk my path alone (except for welcome dreams), till next our paths may cross!
Thank you Jenn, for warming an otherwise cold, overcast being … er, day! ⁓ Richard : )

More than a little splendidly-writ! 100/100
