Summer

Summer

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ just a little scribble ~

"

art ~ garmash

Caught in the sigh of the ocean breeze

time seems to stand still

and today is as easy

as the lace tipped waves

chasing the seabirds into the sky

sharp cries fading with the crash of the tide

as the sun dances a smooth tango of diamond light

in perfect harmony

and me

            on the shore…

toes digging into the damp sand

teasing the sand crabs from their cool slumber

the breeze in my hair

the sun warm on my face

thinking…

absolutely nothing

Summer is here

             let time stand still….

My dear friend what can I say about this.
A nice departure from your usual genre. I love the descriptions you captured so well. Things we all experience.
the breeze in my hair, the warm sun on my face, digging toes into the sand, etc.
The reader, me in this case, is slowed in the reading by your intelligent use of indents and spacings and that allows the images to build in the mind. It brings back forgotten moments.
Very well done.

Excellent job, Julia!! Ummm .. Julia?? Ooh, I think, it`s Julie .. *Wink* .. I love the radiant buoyancy of words with some sun--filled sheds of nourishing slumber. I can feel the relaxation of summer through your sophisticated words ~~~ floating over the white clouds with some cold embers. You touched my heart again with a beautiful colorful imaginary ... Wonderful write!

I treasure these times and moments as you have so masterfully depicted. The sun, sand, cool breeze and the notion of thinking absolutely nothing while enjoying the pure bliss that life at that moment has to offer is just where I want to be....the only thing is I would want my one true love there with me hand in hand enjoying the same beautiful time and space.

Regards
Troy

Love the ending...it is close to that time of year again indeed, the shortest and many would say the sweetest season, at least where I come from haha The usual brilliance from your pen Julie :)

me too julie
this is much more than "a little scribble"--

and what a pleasure it is when we actually can think of "absolutely nothing"---
