Casual Affair

Casual Affair

A Poem by Minerva

I crave every bit of you

Everyone sees it

I think they are actually sickened

They don’t understand

I crave you, need you whenever I can

They say you’ll be the death of me, true

And still I consume you any chance I get

I need you

I’m nothing without you

I can’t function without you

The shame I once had, gone

Now I openly embrace you, anywhere

This only ends one way

Me breathless still wanting you even as I die

I can’t quit you

Though I’ve truly never tried

For now, I will put you out

Only to meet you once more soon

You and the flame keeper are safe in my pocket

Forever more my casual affair
