You Could Have

You Could Have

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

song for Richie....he lied to me for 3 years...& he's not even sorry. =[ well he can just stfu & read this!

"

My love’s not something to throw away,

You’ll regret the choices you made one day.
You’ll regret that you lied & tried to push me away.
You pushed us & pushed us into this situation,
And now with all the lies between us dies the infatuation.
It was because of you, you & your damned instigations.

(Chorus)
One day you’ll look back & realize what’s gone,
After my heart’s been healed & I moved on.
You’ll be thinking of me as night turns to dawn.
And you’re gonna cry, all the tears you should’ve,
When you realize for the first time just what you could’ve,
Had…
(End Chorus)

My heart’s not something that’s wise to break,
I gave & I gave & still all you can do is take.
Now lying in bed alone, you pay the price for your mistake.
I wish you many lonely, sleepless nights,
I hope you piss people off, get into lots of fights,
I hope your life is never easy, I don’t care if that’s not right.

Nice work .brutally honest with no regrets, you let the bird fly and say goodbye. I loved it.

Krazee good song, very snappy, cuts straight to the point. I love the way "had" could fit as it's laid out here, makes it an interesting emphatic word. Great write!
