As I Flicker

As I Flicker

A Poem by Me

As I flicker, dwindle, linger on;
                nostalgic glances quite far gone.
As I merge and splurge and recollide
into the colours I was when I was.

Wandering semi-colons spaced on a page,
mixed with black and white morning..
Each child lives only to die.
As I flicker, linger, dwindle by.

As I meander, drift, wander about,
flickering by in pallor arches.
Two on the go, one to show,
three to get ready and die.

A foot in the ground.
A foot in the grave,
goes dancing, prancing on
as I dwindle inside.

One mystery becomes the next.
Fate calls, then is gone.
        This flicker lingers and dwindles
into the shade of where I live.

Very interesting poem to interpretate! When you say 'flicker' I imagined the "flicker" of thoughts, but also it made me think of how just as life comes, such as a light can be flickered off. Really good! (:

Beautiful metaphors set up here, I loved all of them! The flow, flawless, and your use of words interests me. Well, I disagree slightly with what you say, we are just a flicker among many. If I was just a flicker, I could also be the one that starts the flame! Haha! Lovely poem, keep penning!

What a brilliant glimpse at the fire of existence... a flicker that could turn into a powerful flame or dwindle into the darkness of days... Awesome piece.
