The Pacifist Reading the War Book

The Pacifist Reading the War Book

A Poem by DeathByChoice

 I'm a pacifist reading a war book

I'm the whitest shade of black,

I'm the living dead.

I'm the angel on your shoulder,

And the devil in your head.

I'm the ticking time bomb about to explode

And the softest petal on the prettiest rose.

I'm the invisible vision,

And the blazing flame that froze.

I'm the everlasting memory you'll never remember,

And a beautiful song without a tune.

I'm the man with no feet walking through town,

And the winter flower blooming in June

I'm the pacifist reading the war book.

A very powerful and thought provoking poem. It's clever the way you merged together opposites and contrasts in to making a universal kind of truth. Your wording is beautiful the only thing I'm unsure of is the repetitive way the lines start. But other than that this is a really thoughtful and interesting piece written very cleverly.
