Abilify

A Poem by Meghan
"

This one's pretty close to me. I believe it was written in high school and meticulously revised through college.

"

An unnatural course of events

oxidized the hinges

of my brain-door,

but my own reality

hammered into me nails

of self doubt.

Apathy.

And a cold unfeeling

breeched only by disruptive bouts

of unfathomable, desperate grief;

eased only

by artificial supplements

trickling through my synapses.

Only there is found mirth.

Only then do I have a moment’s peace

to meet the carpenter

and regret his presence.

THIS one held me... because I wanted to understand. From the beginning it felt ...real.
