Denied Desires

Denied Desires

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Sometimes love is out of reach!

"

Denied Desires

Sometimes,

quite often for some,

we cannot get

what we wish for.

Sometimes our dreams

are just too

far off

in lands beyond

our reach.

Stuck between two

rocks.

Wedged fast

so that try as we might,

we cannot

pull that sword out

from the stone,

no matter its

magical powers.

Despite the pain

and the hurt,

we still dream,

often releasing

our yearnings

like soot,

black balloons

to dissipate

in the sky

like storm clouds

after

a brutal hurricane.

i think the magical power lay in the arm and heart of the protagonist...not in the sword nor stone ;) ..kind of a dark closing ..soot balloons ... hurricanes ... what a blessing dreams of release fall upon a hurt, bloodied soul :( the real life takes more time doesn't it

Hard, bold and true words written my friend. What we want make us know separation and be alone if we can't have. I liked how you used the language. A brutal storm. You are right John. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you so much Jacob. Coming from the master of words I am humbled.
Love is never played out the way we like it, I suppose compromise plays apart or acceptance of what is, and or live miserably with the stakes being too high to achieve that happiness.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
