A Letter

"Dear Sameer,  

          FRIENSHIP……what's  the most important for you? and HATRED….this was what I loved the most.....because my so called good friends betrayed me. you are too my friend , not a good friend, but best friend and you develop a ray of hope in me…did you remember the day when we meet for the first time, in the Sebastian garden.  I left my diary there and when I came back in worseness finding it, you handed it to me safely. And you even expressed your guilty for reading it, as it attracted you. In fact , you whispered something in my ear, "Broken hearts can be mended too, come to me I'll mend it." Your words just left an influence upon me. I felt as if  my heart found a medicine to cure itself… "expressed Mercy in hearty words, with a smile on her lips, that regaining the lost smile of her.

      "Since that day, you  had asked me my problems and you had guided me in the right direction .  You made me realize that inner beauty is worthy …in fact , I even realised that a weak glass was now on the way to become a bullet proof glass... Did you even remember those meetings, we shared talks and gossiped for hours and hours and your friends called you a gossip queen. All those moments just , when I remember, feels like I've attained my heaven, I felt as if rain of blessings and happiness I did have….you even acted more of a like my guide than a friend ..and  got me solved each issue of my life. Moreover, I depended on you. Huh!" portraying each moment that left her in happiness after her dreadful life.

"One day in life while starring in the calm at the night sky, I thought that you would never leave me …never ever you can do this. But who knew this wasn't  planned in our life. Yesterday you said that you need to shift in another state due to family reason, I wasn't shocked. Because I thought that we will be in connection. I had full faith in God and upon you . Alas, you let me down. You said, we were never friends and cannot be ever because you had been my guide and nothing more than that. That knocked me so badly, my mind felt the drill of a hole in it. What did I ask you ? Only just a hand of a friend whose still helped me and wished that you could be there in future too…you decided not to befriend with me…I was left alone and I needed an arm to cry over it and to solve my problems ." Tears of blood flowed down her cheeks."Though none could be as good as you were to me….but death wasn't that rough.  I was in need so death provided a help to me…I'll surrender myself to death and I'll be no more  there to irritate you , and to annoy you….I am not going to even bid you goodbye, because after my death I'll   be around you, huh! I've never wanted the distance of soul" 

                    Reading the letter, Sameer was no more standing on his knees. He fell on the surface and his hands were trembling reading the letter. Drop by drop tears leaked from his eyes and after completing it…he sobbed so badly …yelled and yelled…but none to give him that arm, which Mercy wanted to . She wanted to pay back all that she received from him.

Oh, I am so glad this is fiction. I am deeply moved by your story. You have written it in a very powerful way, and the ending, with its final retribution, came with a tremendous literary punch! How true it is, when people befriend someone to 'help' them. Then, when they are dependant, just leave them. I can actually identify with that utter feeling of loss and being let down. It does make one wish to make the perpetrator feel guilty. But perhaps it would be better, rather than doing away with oneself, to leave it to divine justice. Someone once said to me that if anyone has done something 'bad'. it will eventually come round and hit them in the but!!! Well done for writing this. Your story has given much food for thought.

The best part about your letter is that you include many clear details that help the reader SEE & FEEL the way the narrator feels & what she's been thru. Some writers express feelings as platitudes, which are meaningless really. But here you've gone the extra mile to show us how each thing feels.

There are some bumps in your grammar & construction, but very minor & not worth mentioning, as your writing is clear & easy to follow (except this tiny curly font is a little hard to read!)

Usually I don't like love stories where one person is hurt & blaming the other person (not a balanced picture of how relationships usually end). Your story is about hurting & blaming, but it's balanced, where the narrator is taking some responsibility for what went down, as well.
