Movie Theater!

Movie Theater!

A Story by Amada

My best movie Theater experience!

"

I decided to watch a bollywood movie.

The movie was top rated. Even censor board had awarded it with ‘A’ certificate. Myself coming from a village area, so I went to the district area to watch the movie.

“You are a minor, aren't you?” Security said.

“No, sir. You can check my Facebook profile too!”

He didn't seem convinced but let me in. I was delighted.

I sat beside an old man. The man seemed super excited and all pumped up. His excitement, however, slowly went downhill as the movie got a bit delayed.

“What is this?” The old man roared.

“Have I paid ₹ 150 to watch this s****y blank screen?”

He began abusing the entire staff in local language. Everyone in the audience JNUinely joined the protest, except me.

I condemned the verbal violence by uprooting three chairs.

Eventually, the movie began. It was awesome. Everyone appreciated the movie ‛hands down’! The contentment on old man's face said it all. His antique bucket list was completed that day. From Deol to Leone, he had seen it all.

I was pleased to witness the historical moment.

Anyway, to shield myself from getting identified by a familiar face, I came out of the hall before climax.

And, holy gobar! (dung)

My dad's friend was standing outside the theatre. The world is, indeed, a small place. Especially, if you live in small town.

“ Did you come here to watch the movie?” He quipped

“ Umm”, I trembled, “ Nope. Just to enquire.”

“ Ah, bad luck then. It's an adult movie.”

“ Yep. I didn't know. Thanks uncle!” I said.

Uncle understood me and let me go.

Dad didn't. (-_-)

Another enjoyable anecdote about your simple everyday life . . . well told to show us your wry & amusing way of looking at the basic things that happen. You could've included a little line or two to explain what the movie was about. Here you tell a story with no face on it. All this anticipation about seeing WHAT movie? That omission just felt a little empty, that's all! *smile* Fondly, Margie
