Kyrielle Form … a cowrite by Great Aunt Astri and Richard

Life’s Bright Memories

Some things were once hard to accept,

those words that hurt were so austere.

With heads ablaze, we deeply wept …

life’s memories lie gently here.

I sit and think of all the things

we mused about, not always clear;

our thoughts so vast, we dreamed like kings.

Life’s memories lie gently here.

That which we did, dare we believed;

were they the echoes our minds fear?

Time heals dire deeds when hearts deceived …

life’s memories lie gently here.

Defending folks' and friends' true rights,

we've tried to build a world with care,

and often worked through long, dark nights;

life’s memories lie gently here.

Then, as the sun begins to set,

I look around with love to share;

acceptance takes away regret,

life’s memories lie gently here.

A better world we strove to  build …

in ways we did that hold us dear;

one with all love and laughter filled.

Life’s memories lie gently here.

When all around we look and see

an atmosphere of brighter cheer;

was what has caused it, "You and me"?

Life’s memories lie gently here.

Form poetry can be difficult as the structure can take away from the creativity and emotion. However, you two nailed this one and made a difficult form actually look easy. I am blown away. You stuck to the form while writing a delightful creative piece. An awesome collab! Julie

Wow... the title really attracted me to reading this, and when I did, it was... MINDBLOWING!
Woah! You guys followed the Kyrielle poem way with following all the rules of 4 lines per stanza and even approx 8 syllables per line, with flowing the words and having them make sense!
Especially the thoughts and emotions that dwelled in this poem so delightfully...
I love this...
Keep it up Richard and Astri!!!
