A Poem by SilentDream
"

I find myself holding my breath for the duration of the long pauses in Cristofori's Dream by David Lanz

"

inspired by Cristofori's Dream by David Lanz

you read like hesitance

and a pause that builds before collapsing into more silence
as my fingers trace your lines that steadily fade...
Thus I rest on a page that won't turn.

your hold was like resistance,
staccato breaths pressed against my sighs
Though my hand hovered near your heart,
it won't yearn.

and I swear I forgot to breathe
when I thought you'd touch me

Herein, though, there was promise -
desire tumbling into a swell. There's
still promise and there's hope within a pause.

In your silence, I hear
me - my measured breaths, slowed
exhalation and, therein, I swear I'm
lifted regardless.

Ah, all is good in the world when I read a poem from you, Zsanesce...well, at least in my world. :)

I love your flow and word choice...tremendous volume of imagery and I love that. Nicely done as always.
