Breath InA Poem by skratch234Went to a Nerd-Core Hip Hop show and the first three lines of this started repeating in my head toward the end of the night. It wouldn't stop until i finished this. I like it but it's extremely randomBreathe In
This is where our story shall begin children in the throes of sin giggling with maniacal grin becoming poets and philosophers again extremely aware of the breeze on their skin
Breathe Out
And now these children begin to doubt the truths their imagination brings about the poetry they used to spout now a wordless, mumbled shout the philosopher turned to useless lout
Cough Cough Cough
Again to their muse they call with new focus they give their all to take this world, a dirty wall and with eyes open they begin to scrawl
Their words of duty Their songs of love Their paintings focused on eternal beauty
They ask where the heroes have gone but no answer They ask who will watch them until the dawn but still no answer
soon it's not the answer that matters most within questions they become engrossed picking apart words bringing them to their most basic the power of creation in their hands and soon they can't face it. Overwhelmed with their own abilities a darkness sets in
A collective sigh and again
