Alchohol

Alchohol

A Poem by Andromeda
"

Shut the door

And bury the hatchet

In the bottom

Of that drawer

Where you keep

The poison that

Keeps your heart

                Beating

                Like an

                Off-kilter drum

Like the flavor

Of cigarretes

And midnight memory

Bars of

                Piano desperation,

                Set to the tempo

                Of peanut skeletons

                Crunching beneath

                Feet that

Run away and

Shut the door

And bury the hatchet

Bloody in the

Bottom of an

Alchoholic drawer.

That was an interesting romp. Love the peanut skeleton imagery. :) A good write even though it is a rough subject to embrace. Kudos.

Having many alcoholics in my family, this poem touched me. Thank you for writing it and posting it.
