Wall

Wall

A Poem by Sunshine Kid

Sometimes I
Wonder
What it would be
Like
Talking to
A
Wall.
It would listen
Wouldn’t it?
It wouldn’t
Interrupt me
Or judge me
Or hate me
Or hit on me
(Well
Technically
It could
But in a much
More painful
Way).
Of course
It can’t nod
Or talk
Or offer
Advice
But maybe talking
Aloud
Will help myself
Find advice
And peace
Of mind.
It would be
Kind
Sincere
And understanding
All the time
Regardless of my
Stories
And how many
Times I tell them.
It wouldn’t
Spill my
Secrets
When I confess
My crush
Or
Love.
It doesn’t
Have any other
Friends
But
Me.
Maybe the next
Time I say
“Talking to you
Is like
Talking to
A wall”
I will think of
It as a compliment
And hope
You do
Too.
