The perfect fifth

The perfect fifth

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

love is music is love...

"
Do you recall
the day we
  took it to the bridge;

perfected our harmonies all
dissonance ~ banished

you straddled me -
capo style

the air danced to
arpeggios and crescendos

before we shared the inevitable
coda

What was
will always remain
amidst the reverberations

endless reflections
of our
sweet duet

I'm musing about capo style straddling ... garters by the ankle, below the knee, above the knee, or even higher. Hard to play when it gets too high - fingers trip over themselves, just like ... (I have a song I play on capo 7; nightmare). Tony, I enjoy these analogies. Nice job! Nigel

You probably know Jacob from this website who writes with a similar extended metaphor style (he's got some killer metaphors, so this is a high compliment). I love the use of musical terms here & also your byline of "love is music is love" . . . the capo observation is truly the best & most imaginative of all your musical wordplay.

This is fantastic! I love the tone and the way it drifts slowly into the last line.

As a fellow guitar player, I truly appreciate this piece, Tony.

One thing I regret is having never learned to play a musical instrument. I admire those who do and who can be creative. Here you mix both skills (in a way) and turn that memory of something shared and unique into a really melodic piece of poetry Tony.

I like this and can relate to this as a musician also. I have read several of your writings. I think we might see in a similar way..let's discuss this perhaps..time to friend.

A beautiful love story, Tony, with great metaphors(?)/analogies. I do not really know the language of poetry...I like the stregth in the simplicity.

Sincerely

Yes the music we hear is different to each of us but how beautiful the dance. Lovely poem Tony expressed in true poetic form.

The dance is the most beautiful part - thank you Andrew mate. I appreciate your thoughts.

This is such a sweet poem. I had to google nearly all the musical words lol..
Especially liked the last stanza, Tony! Pretty cool actually.
And I've been reading and deciphering the meaning of this particular poem from yesterday 😛 How dumb I am 😂
