This reminds me of the many 'trophy wives' that men marry to use - showing them off like some sort of status symbol.
It has a strong rebellious tone - teeming with resolve and awakening.

I love this simile, "like a fragile glass figure."
Perhaps consider condensing some words ~ like instead of "you get to display" maybe make it "you display." There's an amazing urgency in this piece and I think condensing some of the verbiage would bring it out even further. I like the alliteration and word choice in "Don't think I don't see what you're doing." It connects all the players in the piece well.
