On the Single Wife

On the Single Wife

A Poem by UC Poika
"

Single men may think she is many women but actually she's the same one she does a lot of changing her appearances and she's the only wife he's ever known.

"

She is seldom home and seems to live in bars
And changes her shape and the colors of her hair
And though she seems not to know him from the man from Mars
She loves him as if they were the only couple there
When she stays with him and not some other guy
She gets increasingly bored and far less sweet
She often leaves for places unknown but why
He doesn't know or care until out on the street
They say she just changed the looks of her eyes again
His blonde is redheaded and black or brunette
Sometimes platinum, sometimes gold but then
What he sees is mostly what he will seem to get
Not near as often as married men get texts
He wakes most mornings having drempt of his "nexts."
