The Explosion at the End

The Explosion at the End

A Poem by UC Poika
"

Watch for it; the surprising ending. Be prepared to read it twice.

"

The explosion that ended it all was beyond my mind

I couldn’t begin to think the thoughts you’d need

It was so intense nothing was left behind

There was no rationale behind the deed

Really nothing like it had occurred to me

You wouldn’t think it would ever happen at all

From that time on it would be our reality

It was inhuman as if God made the call

I still want to hold your hand like a Beetle boy

I still need to show my love in every way

Your hand is not here and neither is my joy

That blowup ended it all is all I can say

I could never trust you not to blow again

What is now cannot ever be what once has been.

I really don't mean to minimize the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in anyway.

I like the way you crafted this poem. I read more into it and like how you set it up. Its natural for a reader to turn a piece like this into something relative to themselves. Great job :)
