Okay

Okay

A Story by Tiny Drop

I smile and your laughter fills the whole room. You're happy, I'm happy. It's as simple as that.
Shouldn't it be so?

Sometimes I doubt it's real. That this type of happiness cannot belong to me. But maybe I should believe it. You smile at me and no matter the mood I laugh. You ruffle my hair and I feel like I did back then, a child embraced in a mother's warmth. So comfortable, so safe, so protected, so loved.
For love is as simple as a word, an action, a kiss, a laugh, a smile. I didn't realize it before. I thought it wasn't real, that others just wasted time fooling themselves with grandiose worthless words. I was wrong. I'm glad I was wrong. There's no need for fake strength of crocodile tears with you.

I can just be me. Even when I'm happy or sad.
A mere 'It's okay' is all we need to love.
