Your Greed

Your Greed

A Poem by

When you kissed me then,

you stole me from myself.

I had only myself then,

so why steel the one precious thing,

I loved dearly?

It wasn't a fair trade.

You didn't give me yourself in return.

How selfish of you.

I am a no one now.

One with no me.

One with no you.

Your greed took my pride away.

So far away.

interesting how one deadly sin took over the other...
i also love how you've shown how unfair life is, when almost everyone has to deal with unfair trade. although this is (I think) particularly projected towards love, i think it had deeper meaning to it.

Oh, Love, you can give your heart away; give your love away; but NEVER give yourself away.
An effective poem about a one sided love.

it isn't a fair trade until it's love. talking here about relationships, it can be hard until we find the balence. you are writing with a good voice and it shows that you are working out things by writing this.

A very good poem. Those sweet kisses can steal our mind and heart away. I like this poem. The emotion of love leave us weak and content at the same moment. A excellent poem.

this is really good. I love the line about the deadly sin taking another. and meaning behind this is very deep.
