We cry

We all need someone back in our lives

               We cry

 

We need you here.I need you

here next to me.You've been gone

for so long now.Don't you miss us

like we miss you? The kids cry everyday,

wondering when will you walk in.Or do

you want them to wipe the tears and

grow stronger without you?

 

I shiver all alone in our bed.Whenever I

turn to smell your side of the bed

I seem to cry like the kids do.Somehow

I'm greatful for these tears because

seemingly,without them I would not

be able to sleep.

 

Abandon everything there and come

hold us,come to hold this trembling

family together.I will kiss the children

for you,tell them you are alright.But

make sure you remember to come

home and smile

I love the vulnerability you placed in this prose to very palpable feelings conveyed. When you write this way the authenticity bleeds thru the lines fantastic! This of course is not the emotional response that the lines call for, but i refer to the mechanics. I also need to mention the imagery you placed in second stanza is very well done. I lastly have to say whenever a man has the courage to be this truthful in vulnerability shows what a strong man he is... a rare quality to have and an excellent one for a poet in this bunny's opinion!

There is a missing link in this sad, forlorn missive. We know not why this pair are apart. Is is a voluntary act of necessity, perhaps they have been sent to safety from a war zone but the husband had to stay. Perhaps it was his/her job that causes the distance between them. Filled with descriptive images and pathos.

The addressee's lover went a long time ago for a decent vacation but never returned and she was never heard from ever again so the addressee has forgiven her because he cannot seem to survive without her and wants her to return home regardless.

The pain in this one is thick enough to be stirred. We wonder if this is a case of abandonment, or if the addressee is of necessity working in a distant location. Few could receive such a missive and not be moved to go home.
