Daddy...

Daddy...

A Poem by Alisa Js

we were all so young back then
and all we wanted to do was to be near him
anyway we could

pure love.
total bliss.
how could we have known
he wouldn't survive
past those days of such innocence
and trust?
maybe he did...

Hi
I like this. It's simplistic prose style is accentuated by the poetic "pure love", "total bliss", and "maybe he did." Sometimes sadness is much simpler to deal with without the flowery words or far reaching metaphor. Thanks.
