Enlightenment

Enlightenment

A Poem by Tangerine
"

This was part of a song I wrote, but the rest of the lyrics were, well, crap. Sorry, I know this isn't that great, but I think that writers block is contagious. . . .

"

When was the last time you watched the clouds go by?

Went to bed early to watch the sunrise?

Have you taken the time to chase butterflies?

And if you haven't, give a good reason why

You're too caught up other things today

Tomorrow's no good, the next day's the same

Slowly you seem to be slipping away

Where is the enlightenment that keeps us all alive?

The childish curiosity we all need to survive?

It broke when we got older but before I die,

I'll wonder what happens after the light

Will I go to heaven, will I go to hell?

Is there something else out there that's just as well?

Possibilities are endless, no matter where you are

But have you taken time lately to gaze at the stars?

I love that. =]

The beginning is amazing, the middle made you think, and the end left you satisfied. Great poem Kudos to you.
