One Day In My Life

One Day In My Life

A Story by bluessadmood
"

it will tell you everything ,no need to explain

"
I usually wake at six every morning ,I never sleep a lot really no more than few hours each day..
I drink some three cups of coffee.. open my lovely writers café ,off course I use batteries as power,
since we don't have electricity but two or three hours every day..
at eight sharp I run to work using my old car,i have to pass through some hundred check points every day ,and all the while I pray to God if those bullets that are sprayed around me will somehow miss
mesas I already was car bombed three times, one of them was so close it nearly sent my head off, but they have missed me to this day, God must really like me ,I am sure..
and while in my car driving I see corpses here and there, people urge me to carry them to hospital..
but I refrain because if you take them then police there will surely arrest you to know how come
you have a body in your car, only if you are so lucky ,then you will spend some few months in
their lovely jails, and again if you are lucky you may come out in one piece..however I doubt it
very much.                                                         Well then I am still driving my car ,and close to work and again then there is a shower of
shells ,small rockets fall like rain all around me ,its like fireworks only at day light ha ha,its really funny..
and i keep driving ,i told you God must really love me..and i reach my work, drained out of any good wish in
this silly life spend all my time in hearing stories of poor mothers losing their children being killed
day after day, their husbands, brothers..some whole buses full of people being bombed by mistake while driving on ..
so many will cry telling me it's just too much to live through this ,I se old men
cry in front of me,i swear..they tell me they can't feed their families since they can't work ,they can't reach work
so they may starve for days in the richest country of Iraq..my friends ,this is part of the picture of life we lead here for the last six years
I hope you enjoyed this writing..

So intense and sad... as so many cry here and some for such small trivial things in comparison as so much worse goes on in this world.. this is a real eye-opener and touches me so deeply.. I too pray for you my friend.. keep your hope and faith that one day.. this world may become a better place! Your writing makes me weep inside.. such bitter reality! Truly pain and such an atrocious setting.. keep writing.. it's good to share.. may an angel watch over your precious soul continously..

thank you for sharing a day in your life. The strength that you have to not only get through the day unharmed yet still wake in the morning to start again. I am truly sorry that you have to live in the turmoil, I am glad that you were able to share with the rest of us what life is like for you. Keep writing as we will keep reading.

Oh Moayad, this was so chilling.....an everyday nightmare that has to be endured for years and years on end by you and your people.

You described this horrific way to live in vivid terms that pulls us from our complacency to cold hard reality. We can't begin to know how you feel, but you have given us a pretty good idea of what it IS like by this well written piece.

I agree with Lara, please send it to a literary magazine or maybe a newspaper if that is possible.
Thank you for sharing your "story"........ a story that is not over by any means.

Stay safe my friend....

Helena

The raw writing and the matter of fact tone of the piece makes this a quite powerful document on sheer survival instinct. The everyday fear, suffering and the resigned acceptance of the harrowing danger living in a war zone that greed and corruption created makes riveting and sad reading. A war journal of the 1st rate.

this is my response to Gandre..
every word i said was true,i swear its an everyday happening, just imagine walking and driving downtown while shells and rocket grenades
fall like rain on our heads..people easily get forced out of their cars and get kidnapped and killed everyday,a senior surgeon was rained with bullets all through his body ,now resting half dead in a hospital in Jordan where he was taken..
we survive only by a miracle and try as much stay indoors and never leave home..but if there were rocket attacks while you were on the streets ,you will have to take shelter in a nearby building unless the building itself was targeted then you say bye bye life..here everything ends and you just have to say goodbye for your life was destined to end here..thanks lara

It is a lucid overview about your reality in a country which is occupied and having still a war, and I felt your latent or even penetrating fear and your silent cynism, because it really is crazy, living in a country whre the day is still unpredictable....you wrote and stayed with comprehensible way of thought, about this your every day's - great game - you write so authentically lively, and you never know what brings you the next day when you are participating your traffic circus, when you walk you never know what happens the next moment....it is the ultimate every-day's adventure and the inhabitans of your country have to show a high degree of bravery...and you see, nobody even asks if they perhaps could get a psychologist, they silently endure their pain.... on the other hand, in our western society of high tech era, every 3rd person allegedly has therapy or experience of a psychologist or psychiatrist.. and I already thought about this, a time ago...how all those poor people were able to survive wars, (and that's why it's amazing that we actually survived, our ancestors had dangeorus life they...lived a life from one war into another war and one natural catastrophy to another one), and so, where people are really traumatized like in Iraq, and you see - life is designed so amazingly intelligently.....that their body has its own intelligence and the amazing phenomenon mind can a way borrow the state of being dissoziative in such traumatic moments....otherwise a person would get insane...so this is a natural God-like- protection. And your easy going personality, Moayad, because you don't dramatize the life you live you take it how it is and what it offers to you - so your mood and attitude, also perhaps saved your life, I believe this. Driving in this your city you must be an illusionless man. I totally enjoyed the way how you wrote this. Great writing. You should send it somewhere literary magazine or something, you write about a war.. the reading is not "heavy"...one doesn't "stay heavy with thoughts " after reading it but just becomes aware. This has a huge impact on people, such kind of writing, this is entering consciousness of others, and influencing without wanting to influence: in the sense of NOT making wars in the future. The next step of this society should be to ignore the violent computer games and movies. I wonder, who plays them when nobody would buy it? Perhaps the Chinesse want it? America could make a trade instead of dollars - pay in naturallia and europe, too.. perhaps also to or Africans? They would try them and throw it away, computer games are not compatible with the African slow motion attitude and poverty. this was very important writing!

i dunno if "enjoy" is the word i'd use to describe it. But i appreciate the light you shed on just how horrible it is. I'm not sure how anyone can be surprised anymore at the compacity for evil we humans have in us. It's just as horrific to ignore it's happening. Our creators us needs to wipe us out and start working on a better model...

Well I can't say I enjoyed reading about human suffering. This is very intense with a sense of urgency. All I really can say is that my prayers are with you and yours. Thanks for sharing a day in the life of bluesadmood.
