Without you

Without you

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

Watching one of my fav shows... wrote some stuff for fun

"

This is probably a little past due,

but as I keep waiting for time

to heal these wounds… I only find

myself still missing you.

I know I was so far from perfect,

No matter how hard I tried…

I could never find happiness... yet it

kills when I see tears in your eyes.

I never wanted to hurt you,

Only a chance to love you.

But the harder I tried the

farther away I pushed you.

Maybe I was never good enough.

So I found ways to cope and to

be happy momentarily… never

realizing the path of destruction

and heartbreak I would leave behind.

Maybe the world will be a better

place without me… I’ll never know.

What I do know is that I’ll never

be a better “me” without you.

Poignant piece. The pain and loss of relationship; something every human being experiences. Here you have captured its essence. The pleasure and pain, the truth and blame, elegantly written and evenly delivered. A wonderful poem from an excellent poet. Thank you for rr, and sharing your art.

Peace, Todd

This is terrifyingly magical, Aaron! Your words cut through the veins, spilling unto the page a collection of heartache and regret. You were able to put together a nice flow allowing the reader to fully relate and understand the picture you were painting. I love this. Just coming out of some serious heartache myself, I could relate to this instantly. I love the last two lines, that was the perfect ending to a perfect poem. Well done, my friend!

Thank you Michael... it's always easier to reflect on the past than to see in the moment :)
It's immensely poetic, the words sway to make their way beautifully across the page to the intellect. Though quite tragic, it's somehow also sweet and perhaps warm enough to melt the addressee's heart. Indeed very well-written, this was a pleasure to read Aaron.

Thank you very much Pushkar :) Always appreciate your feedback bro... glad you enjoyed it :)
I love the beauty of this poem, even though it's tragically sad. But sometimes that's where all the beauty is....in sadness. I think that a lot of people probably feel this way and the way that you put it into words is wonderful, Aaron. Fabulous job, of course and keep writing!

PS: I haven't gotten to reading your story yet but I've put it in my reading list so that I remember.

Wow. Aaron, this was a beautiful piece. You really made the pain and loneliness you feel, relatable to the reader. Your emotions are quite apparent in the lines and flow through it so beautifully.

It is a really great piece! I hope that you are getting closer and closer everyday, to feeling like you will be able to love again. It truly is the greatest gift anyone can give or receive.
