Speak up

Isn't life challenging

That hatred in your mind

When people scream at you

When everybody's pointing you out

The clouds from which you see

Start filling slowly

And you don't speak up like it's a crime

And when its time the clouds have to burst

When the room is locked

And you are inside

You help the clouds burst and ruin your mascara and at the same time you clean them 

And a handkerchief in your hand

What ever you do you always end up crying.

Very interesting tangle of ideas here, altho I'm not following every line with clarity, I do get some glimpses of recognition: "that hatred in your mind" . . . "you don't speak up like it's a crime" . . . I feel a similar scramble of intensity becuz I always bite my tongue rather than let it out & start something bigger & more fierce than I care to deal with.

I just re-read this & now it seems different & clearer. I'm remembering how I used to have so much rage inside me, I couldn't speak up becuz I couldn't express myself without crying. It took me years to overcome this, which is a huge disadvantage in the business world, since crying is considered an unforgivable weakness. So I just didn't speak up for decades . . . until just recently I learned to. Now your message is crystal clear to me.

Very beautiful piece. A lot of people struggle to stand up for themselves and speak up ( I'm kinda going through that) but I definitely felt inspired to stand up after reading this lovely poem! Nicely done hey

I like the emotion in this poem, sadness, and relatable to so many. The critique that I have is i believe the "its" in "and when its time the clouds have to burst" (wonderful line by the way) should be it's instead. Wonderful write.
