Any Road

Any Road

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Every road you choose

Is a step in the right direction,

Especially if it is a dead end

For then you’ll see what shouldn’t be,

And if it’s the wrong way

Down a one way road

Then you know the drive

Is worth the fuel

Made from your heart’s desire,

And anytime you take a dirt road

Your mind will make an impression

That all the world will see

when following your lead.

Thank you very much
Hmm something to ponder for sure. It seems I'm always at the "forked" road never knowing which road I should take. This poem tells me whichever road I choose could be the right one.

Thank you for the read and review. We never know if it is right or wrong util we travel it.
Sometimes we drive uphill and other times downhill... sometimes we are in third gear and sometimes we have our foot on the brake... The destination is hopefully a lovely view. truly, Pat

well said my friend.
Your way of writing an inspirational message is the perfect blend of everyday storytelling with hints of spiritual nuance, but open to interpretation. Sometimes I read the many dreary poems on this website about heartbreaking experiences & I can't help but think of your message . . . even bad experiences often start out good & teach us a bunch along the way! I like the way this is written as if the reader is traversing a maze of possibilities that you describe along the way (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

Thank you Margie, to know my poems can be inspirational is the ultimate compliment.
i like the takeoff on Frost's "the Road not taken"

variety is the spice of life...trying different roads allows for so many different experiences if we are just willing to turn down those roads, and drive.

It is funny, I hadn't thought of Frosts poem when writing this. Thank you sir for the wise review.
reminds me always of the poem by robert frost the road less traveled by... anyway we are the ones making decisions in our life, whatever the path we choose all we have to to is to drive it to the right direction but can't avoid having bumps and humps along the way.
