Surreal Fairytale

Surreal Fairytale

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Misty eyes notice a dwarf

Dancing under a purple sunrise

Like he was a princess.

The princess dressed in white

Walks down the middle of the street

Like walking down the aisle

To an everafter wedding.

Her gallant knight sells her

At the last minute for magic beans

To feed his horse in hopes

Of making him a unicorn

When all the noble steed wants

Is to be the mouse

With so many friends.

Yet the mouse sits and cries

While watching the dwarf dance

Wishing to be his partner.

Dale.....I am most certain this is not just a "fairy tale", but a tale of settling for seconds...compromises..., change of roles, unmet expectations somewhere along the way! The poor mouse in the end has to sit and watch, though he wanted to be so much more! Your way of telling this fable/moral is unique, and flowing from the magic kingdom with creativity! Well done!!!

Wow.. this represents both a fun and fantasy side of you that I almost feel is ignited by a spark of reality with another!!! It could be the desires of one to try to turn someone else into something they are not.. and that poor mouse sits and cries as they would like to dance and be so much more.. I can relate to the mouse a little but my circumstances were different.. I didn't fear going out.. I am saddled with too much responsibility of people in need that were around me.. tight deadlines at work and in family.. just trying to juggle life in itself! I hope your mouse gets out.. and learns to laugh and play =)

oh.....the platonic love... but who knows fairytales often turn for good .... and they will be happy. I loved the way you wrote this. differently ... and creatively...perfect.

And unhappy ever after. I like your fairytale, you could start a series of them. Thank you it was fun to read, a nice break from the sad love poems we all write. Thank you for sharing. God Bless

Read it three times cos I wanted to see the picture clearly. .. surreal for sure and different from you, almost quaint.

But, now I'm wondering if it's not metaphorical, a story behind a story. Now you have me thinking!

There's nothing like words that make a reader think... :)

Sounds like an episode of fractured fairy tales you know like off of Rocky and Bullwinkle. It was such a fun read. Excellent job..
