SCOTLAND

Secession in a civilized nation

Old Scotland wanted to secede

The people cast their vote

The no votes held the ballot box

Scot independence smote

The losers bowed out gracefully

The winners didn't gloat

Old Nessy kept the Union jack 

The nation held the vote 

Not a single shot was fired 

No voting with the gun

The Scots achieved a victory

They showed us how it's done 

Author's Note

Scotland pulled off an incredible feat this week. They pushed independence all the way to a popular vote and no one got killed, no troops called out, no one blew up a voting booth, no calls for an armed rebellion, nothing. The Scots taught the world how a civilized people attempt succession. They turn out in massive numbers to vote and accept the outcome. So here's to the Scots. HIP HIP HOORAY!!! HIP HOP HOORAY!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

Short. sweet and simple . Lovely and straight to the point. I compeltely agree with your sentiment aswell it is a shame that other disagreements cannot be settled with the need of warfair if only other nations could take this little voting thing on board and not find the need to bomb the s**t out of each other.

I love your final paragraph, who am i kidding i love them all but something leaps out at me from it and it embeds the message with leaving a meaningful and thought provoking after taste
