Balm for the soul...

Balm for the soul...

A Poem by Frieda P

Thou art the skies, my vast ocean,
        sanctuary
 in the night's pitch dark
  quietude like the flutter
               of butterfly wings
roar of the sea when need be,
wildflowers of my bloom
            in wanton prayer,
     envelops solitude's endearment
   balm for the soul,
                    a dance within spirit
frivolous enjoyment
                    of shared laughter,
   satisfaction
              in the hours of stillness,
surrendering
 anticipation's expectations,
 lifted to a higher plane
            of Utopian gratification
      centering
                                my euphoric quest

The poem is amazing and beautiful. It felt like silence prayer and thoughts. I like the places and thoughts I was able to feel from the very good description. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Frieda, you've just hit another one out of the park and into my favorites folder. This is how I feel in the quiet solitude of my church parish. There is a special healing quality, a "balm for my soul" that can be found there. This music matches what we play at mass on the organ...and it is probably my favorite place in the world. All my friends are there, my meditative, spiritual place is here amongst the music...and the music is sensational. How do you do it?!

This is quite pretty. It's one of those poems that makes me wonder if I could write something like it, but I probably can't and if I did, it wouldn't be genuine. Thanks Frieda. I really liked this one

There's a melancholy air, about this poem, I don't experience from your other poems. In the beauty of your words and layout of them. Recalling memories, long silence by everyday life, but still able to bring a smile, on those days, which a simple gesture speaks louder than words can. Thank you, Frieda, for sharing this poem, with us.

You imbue sadness, the darker ink so well but when you are light - it is also beautiful

Firstly, the music inspired me to write something, ahaha. I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen but it brought back memories, plus, our conversation just now sparked it - so it might not be the best and I think you can guess it'll already be touchy and depressed. HA!

Secondly, this poem was out of this world amazing. Can I have some of this, thanks. ;-) I loved this, I think T H I S is my new favourite of yours. Damn girl, this hit the jackpot for me. xoxoxo
