Blanco tu piel,                                    White be your skin,

Negro tu pelo,                                    Black be your hair,

Dulce y fiel,                                       Sweet, without sin

Sin par en consuelo.                        In support, no compare.

 

La Naturaleza                                    Nature, pure in her duty,

Forjó tu belleza,                                 Had fashioned your beauty,

Ampliando tu resplandor;                  So your splendour spreads to your feet;

Y siempre es sagrado                        And it fills me with pride

Estar a tu lado,                                When I stand by your side,

Envuelto en tu calor.                        Enshrouded in your heat.

Que eres hasta la muerte                    For ’til death do us part

Mi santa de suerte-                             You’re the jewel of my heart-

Mi único amor.                                    My love, my life, my sweet.

Me quitas de cualquier mordaz dolor,  You rid me of whatever biting pain,

Me quitas de cualquier voraz horror,    You rid me of whatever ruthless bane,

Y siempre rielas como una flor.  And ever brightly gleam, come shine, come rain.

 

Me das los más idílicos placeres,              You furnish me with such ideal delights,

Trully a great poem! It reminds me of a poem from Luis de Camões, (the Portuguese author of "Lusiadas"). In a poem called Claimed Barbara the slave (endechas Bárbara a escrava) he talks about his love with a slave. The two poems are really different and at the same time pretty similar, it's beautifull to see the differences between the two women but it's equal the love that it's shown.
Very well done, especially in spanish!

I’ve always loved when the significance of a name gets used and explored in depth. The character, Snow White, in and of herself is beautoful to comprare someone to, but the connotations of her name, and just how pure of a nature it conveys, adds so much to such a comparison.
I also think the line “existo yo por ti” is powerful.
