taking the house for a walk

taking the house for a walk

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

taking the house for a walk

placate,

then vacate,

hearts live in transient station

pay the rent,

don't buy into love

or that abhorrent trust in gratification

movement staves off

the mesmerizing involvement

and picket fence expectation

while the dog makes a mess

in the back yard of memories

a little house of hope faces demolition…

we are what we eat, we are what we wear, we are where we live, which all goes to show we are not who we thought we were......are we?

Do we ever find a permanent stop in our journey through life, through realities? interesting observations J

Many move in with aspirations only to find they are mirages. Its not easy. Great writing. The last line sums it all up perfectly.

This is definitely another favourite of mine. I very much equate it to my own life, in terms of building a home with family or maintaining a house is a very different thing.

Even the sturdiest structures require TLC. Not all storms provide rainbows when they are over. This poem is sad...

"Life used to be so hard," but so often the verb tense is more present than past.
