The Jacket on the Plane

The Jacket on the Plane

A Poem by Erin Thomas
"

a poem about the one who was forgotten

"
The jacket on the plane
a braid in the mane
Your coffee on the roof
still remains the only proof

that I was ever there.
Your justice can't be fair

A stitch too tight
some hope lost in flight.
A game I will not share.
A love I couldn't share.

I'm the crime scene,
fate won with one scream.
The movers will try to forget
but you will never regret.

It's a haunted house in light.
Just be alert in the night.
Memories you think to forget,
but you will never, ever regret.

Came up with this in the airport when someone left their jacket on the plane. It's kind of a play on a cliche. Also, I might have been the forgotten one at one point... Let me know what you think

Cliche in one aspect but you went away from the airport cliche with your imagery. "it's a haunted house in light Just be alert in the night" is great, with the flow and you have to think when you read it. Nice piece.
