Color My World

Color My World

A Poem by Frieda P

We breathe words, send them out to be born
they inflict comfort or pain decidedly
pen a rant and it's undeniably recognized
what of the subtleties of our demeanor
provoking chaos and damage control
is, is 'is', or is it?
We only see in other's, what is born inside
our own chromatic lives and tribulations
paint the picture of our acknowledgments
'been there, done that' speaks volumes
do you see me through glazed tainted eyes
or, do you read me with the flair of an artist
each brush stroke, another indelible mark

I trace your berries of scarlet compassion

Color me burnt sienna with umbra

Thanks so much Tarry! Much appreciated.
I love this, I mean i really do. The use of words, everything about it was perfectly thought out. So much thought and use in this. Awesome. :)

I believe you. ;-)
Thanks...
Its very true that we paint the world with the only colors we have in our palette. We view the world with our own distorted glass. Projection. A very scary thought brought to fore by you colorfully.

Thank you Dale, glad you enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this poem. I wrote a more bland argument along this line of thought. We only see what we know to look for usually...
Your poem added an invitation at the end that tied in to the title well. Also, the tone was more accepting and less accusing than the topic could lend itself to being. You opened yourself more to be seen in colors and art instead of hiding is the misunderstanding of shadows. Very well done!

I have to admit I am critical of every single one of my poems too. ;)
We breathe words, you create them even if you hold your breath. You are one of the most talented, gifted women I've come across in my short but eventful life so far. Expressive and powerful and has just the right amounts of color added to its structure to make it a Frieda P, masterpiece. xoxo.

Consider yourself 'squished' ;-)
I can think of slightly less palletable demands, and of greater challenges to the eye.....a pleasing read, thanks.

Thanks for reading Sheema.
What I enjoy here is the imagery, especially like the last two lines, excellent, and the way you sustain the imagey ( chromatic, artist) through the whole poem. You have written an excellent poem.
