A Poet's Posy

A Poet's Posy

A Poem by Frieda P

I fall to the depths in your pain
am elevated in your glory
deep within each moment
perhaps a singular,  familiar light
recognition of places we've been
our destiny's not shared        yet
our commonplace daily lives conjoin
be it pizza, pain, bliss or destruction
nuances of humankind bring us together
refining the craft, speaking our minds
reach out and touch someone with a gift
adornments of life's tapestry in motion
there is no deeper meaning for a poet

You have pretty much sadi it all in this piece. Indeed, poets are a starnge lot, but most of the time well meaning, supportive and genuinely friendly. You can learn a lot from a poet if you pay attention. Maybe I should listen to myself. Nicely done Frieda and a beautiful start to my day.

So much in common even at a distance. You are my muse in many ways...inspiring me to reach deep inside and write. Always my sweetest friend. xo

we do often lay our souls bare in poetry, it seems to be in the understanding that other poets will emphasize with us in their sensitivity...

I agree! When we actually "touch" another soul... We receive the greatest gift in anouthers eyes opening to the expression we share.
Wonderful thought process here.

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

reach out and touch someone with a gift-- what a great line, and a great sentiment.

This was an eloquent write with the guts to say something truly meaningful and introspective. If only we all took a look at ourselves in this way; truly opened our souls to the idea of spending our time helping and giving to others instead of worrying about ourselves. Well written, my friend!

Yes, they do indeed. Nothing can do this like poetry. Thank you for expressing what we all feel, Frieda.

I couldn't agree more.

I do love connecting this way. Food, (Ha!) wine, pain, bliss, love...it's all in there. Angi~
