Translation: The ValleyA Poem by Marie AnzaloneI do not know how, I do not know when, But I have entered a valley of shadows. All is black, everything is amorphous and diffuse, I have entered a dark and stony valley.
There is no moon, there are no stars, nor is there scent of trees or flowers.
I am alone and yet, at the same time, not alone. Everyone shouts from their corners, or whispers into my hearing. I receive varied and precise invitations and proposals, However, no-one is anybody, No-one has a name, No-one has a face, No-one has a body Just plaintive, whining voices that appear to be only roaming shadows.
I have entered, I am not sure how, and I do not know when- the dark valley of my own mind. © 2017 Marie AnzaloneAuthor's Note
