CHAPTER VIII. A MISSING PIECE

CHAPTER VIII. A MISSING PIECE

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)

“Why did you say it”, Rico asked me when Miguel was gone.

            “What did I say?”

“You said I am your boyfriend”, he said while smiling.

“I-I’m sorry, Rico. You know my situation. I just said it…”

“You just said it to see his reaction,” he said with bitterness.

“I just said it so that he may leave. I’m sorry. I do not intend to use anybody,” I apologized to him.

            “I agree,” Rico said.

            “Agree for what?”

“I agree to be your boyfriend. Just temporary, until we make it sure that Miguel won’t make any trouble with you and the baby.”

“Y-You will do that for me?”

“Yes, because I like you to be free from him.”

“T-Thank you, Rico,” I hugged him to show how much I appreciate his offer.

Rico has gone home but I am still thinking what deal we have made this day-  Rico and I will pretend to be sweethearts until Miguel accepts his loss.

I am not really happy with that deal. Somehow  I am afraid.   But I am more afraid of the truth that I am not giving Miguel a chance to be with me. And it is becoming more and more painful for me. Somehow, a missing piece of my heart is still unclaimed…it is in him!

I still  love Miguel. Fool  am if I will say I have forgotten him. As long as I can feel the heartbeat of this baby inside me, I won’t forget him.

I still love Miguel. Fool I am, if I will say I have forgotten him. ------ there's still a string attachment of love as this implied.....perchance they can get back to each other.
Intriguing ending of the chapter.

I knew they will get married later. So sad for Miguel. Great Chapter.
